3 SPRING RECIPES FROM MONNET COGNAC THAT TASTE LIKE ‘SUNSHINE IN A GLASS’
Spring is finally here! Before La Niña soaks us all for a third year in a row, Monnet Cognac has shared 3 Spring recipes to make the most of the sunshine and warm weather, while it lasts.
Monnet, which launched in Australia in July, is one of the most historical signatures of the Cognac region, and since its founding in 1838, has become known around the world for its ‘art de vivre’ (bringing people together through the art of living).
It is commonly referred to as the ‘sunny side of cognac’ as it sets itself apart by the liquids radiant glow and brightness. As well as being an iconic signature of Cognac, Monnet Cognac has become famous through Leonetti Capiello’s renowned poster, ‘Sunshine in a glass’, which was illustrated for Monnet in the 1920s.
In the spirit of bringing people together, Monnet has shared three warm, sunshine-esque cocktails and dessert recipes to enjoy this Spring.
SPICY JUNGLE
Ingredients:
- 20ml Monnet VSOP
- 30ml Monnet Salamander
- 15ml 4-spice syrup
- 40ml fresh orange juice
- 40ml fresh pineapple juice
Method:
In a shaker, pour Cognac Monnet VSOP and Salamander, syrup and fresh juices. Shake vigorously and pour into a long glass filled with ice cubes.
SALAMANDER MULE
Ingredients:
- 40ml Monnet Salamander
- 10ml vanilla syrup
- 20ml fresh lime juice
- Ginger ale
Method:
In a shaker, pour Cognac Monnet Salamander, syrup and lime juice and shake vigorously. Pour into a long ice-filled glass and top up with ginger ale.
SALAMANDER ICE CREAM
Ingredients:
- 20ml Monnet VSOP
- 30ml Monnet Salamander
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 20ml coffee
- 10ml vanilla essence or syrup
- 2 drops bitter aromatic
Method:
In a blender, add all ingredients and blend for 5-10 seconds. Add ice cubes and mix together. Scoop into your glass of choice and garnish with sprinkles or seasonal fruit.
